Il Vello D'Oro Italian Restaurant Melksham

Il Vello D’Oro is an Italian restaurant and pub in the beautiful village of Shaw, near Melksham. It is the perfect venue for a Sunday lunch, family meal out or for a special occasion. Our lovely staff will welcome you and make you feel at home.

Il Vello D’Oro is owned by experienced restauranteur Ardi. He is a talented chef with over 20 years’ experience in the restaurant trade. He has worked in Bottelino’s and Gino’s in Bristol, and Farrell’s in Keynsham.  Passionate about food, he was delighted to have the opportunity to take over The Golden Fleece and transform it into an Italian restaurant. He carefully thought about the new name and their menu, which has a fantastic choice to appeal to all tastes. The pub is warm and welcoming and the restaurant was given a whole new makeover recently.  Why not come along and give us a try?

"Just got home after spending a most enjoyable few hours in Il Vello d'Oro (Golden Fleece). Mushroom starter was lovely, creamy sauce and very flavoursome, my partner asked for a pasta dish as a starter (not on the menu) which was met with no trouble or questions. Main courses consisted of pasta for the young ones, pizzas and steak. All meals were cooked and presented well, dad said his steak was the best he'd eaten for many years!! Waitresses, barman and the owner are all very polite and attentive. We will definitely be booking a table again on our next trip down to visit family 🙂 "
